EARTH Day 2020
Click the links below for Earth Day 2020 Resources and Activities!
Students look at the NASA Earth Day Posters. After looking at the posters, create your own Earth Day poster using recycled materials. Ask your parents to take a picture and email them to me at [email protected]. I look forward to seeing your creations.
Awesome space and science activities you can do with NASA at home! Click below to find instructions for making things like rockets, Mars rovers and Moon landers out of materials you have at home!
DESIGN SQUAD GLOBAL! Be creative while learning about engineering! Watch videos, play games, try activities, and share designs with the community. |

How does a seed become a plant?
Check out NASA's Kids Club! Play and learn about NASA and its missions!
Check Out our Seed Project:
Tomatosphere- Does Gravity Effect Germination?
Mrs. Hopkins and Ms. May's Kindergarten students planted our Tomatosphere seeds on March 5th. As of today, March 16th we have 3 seed groups that have 3 germinated from the P group and 2 from the N group! Remember this is a double blind test so we have no way of knowing which group of seeds flew on the International Space Station!

STEM @ Home
- Design & create a really fun roller coaster for a ping-pong (table tennis) ball.
- Build a catapult that will launch a marshmallow. How far can you get it to go?
- Make a paper airplane that can carry pennies. See how far you can make it fly and how many pennies it can carry!
- Design & build a play-ground for marbles... include all of your favorite playground equipment!
- Build a bridge that can go between two chairs over the span of a foot. See how many small books it can hold!!
- Create something that will keep an egg from breaking when dropped from 4 ft. ...or even higher!! Design & create a really fun slide for a marble.
- Create a floating raft for “army guys” (or other small toys).
- Experiment with different materials & designs. See how much cargo (pennies) your raft can hold until it sinks.
- Can you create a way for the raft to move on its own? M
- Make a ramp with 2 jumps for Hot wheels cars.
- Build one jump for your car to go far and the other to go high!
- Build a tower out of just paper that can support a book. How many books can it hold? Try different shapes and sizes!

STEM Camp
What is S.T.E.M? This Fall, we will be piloting a new way of teaching that focuses on integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Math--S.T.E.M. for short. S.T.E.M. is hands-on minds-on inquiry based exploration. The curriculum is driven by problem solving, discovery, exploratory learning and requires students to actively engage in real world situations and design/create solutions. This program will require community and family support as we train our future leaders to be problem solvers and critical thinkers. We are very excited about this new adventure in teaching and learning and appreciate your support!!
